Testimonials Hi Cornelius - I finally got the time to write a testimonial for your website ... I was aiming to find a training system that would push me to my limits both physically and mentally, to help transition me onto the next fitness level. I had always admired the discipline of boxing training, but thought if would be hard to find someone to learn the basics from. I had visited a few boxing gyms in the local area, yet they were more focused on youths rather than senior beginners. I was lucky to find an ex World Boxing champion who provided personal training. I approached the first session with nerves and anticipation, however Cornelius quickly made me feel comfortable, and provided a supportive environment allowing me to learn the art of boxing. I can honestly say I have never worked as hard in my life, or seen such a rapid improvement in my fitness level. For anyone considering training with Cornelius I would say just do it ! You will not be disappointed, and it will teach you how to push yourself, whilst being hugely rewarding at the same time. - Cheers, Colby. From a female perspective, In the predominantly male dominated sport of boxing it was refreshing to get the opportunity to train again with Cornelius Carr. He takes the time to treat all members of the group as individual boxers showing little distinction between male and female and yet still catering for everyone's strengths and weaknesses. The tuition was superb and after years of training in a variety of sports I came away feeling that this was my home. Its a great way to get fit and if there are any girls out there reading this don't hesitate I am a 48 year old female and this will light your fire. Can't wait till the next training session.' - Fiona from Scotland -------------- I had been going to a personal trainer for some time at a local gym but found I was getting bored , my partner was training with Cornelius and suggested I give boxing training a go, I did'nt think I would enjoy it as it's not really seen as a womens sport , but I decided to try it and loved it. I now think it's great for women and Cornelius is a great trainer. I can be a bit lazy at times but I feel he motivates me and I end up working harder. Cornelius makes the workouts varied so you do not get bored from doing the same thing, my fitness has improved so much since I started , it's great for toning up and I have managed to shift that last stubborn half a stone! I never used to look forward to exercising but I do look forward to this, I would highly recommend it to anyone especially women who want to get fit and toned. - Claire -------------- When me and my friend first arrived and saw the place I was thinking "Who am I kidding? Me, boxing... NO WAY!" But something kept me from chickening out It helped to have my friend there because we kept telling each other that we could do this. However, the moment we met Cornelius he made us feel right at home. It was very good because I had never done boxing before and didn't really know what to expect but with his help I was able to plunge into it very easily and I really enjoyed it. This is physically demanding but totally worth it. So if you have hamster-like skills and it takes you time to get things right, Cornelius will take the time and train you right. After just training once a week, working the pads, and sucking up the heart pounding training circuits...I am in the best shape of your life! My muscles have dramatically toned up, and I've burned off the pug from my stomach...each training day just keeps getting better and better...Cornelius constantly mixes it up with new drills, which leaves your body guessing each time. There's nothing like training one-on-one, or training in a small group with self motivated individuals. It's not a class where he'll stick you in a corner with another novice...Cornelius is right there in front of you, watching your every move...guiding you...making sure your getting it right. -------------- "I have been in gyms since the age of 16 and was looking for something to add a new dynamic to my training. I've put this down to never really pushing myself beyond what im comfortable with. Having stumbled across an article in The Echo about Cornelius and his training sessions I decided to make a change. Since I've been training with Cornelius in the last month or so my training has been anything but comfortable!! He really knows how to push you hard enough to get the most out of you but still leave you wanting to train more and more. I've now stopped hurting in places I didn't know I had and am really feeling the benefit from a fitness point of view. My boxing technique has also improved considerably in the last few weeks. I have and would recommend booking some sessions with Cornelius to anyone who is interested in improving their fitness and /or boxing. I am 42 years old and thought I had always kept myself relitively fit until I went and trained with Cornellius. I had done some boxing when I was younger and did ok and although I had kept quite fit there is nothing like boxing fitness. I couldnt do a round on the pads with out getting out of breath and thought sometimes that id never get to where I wanted to be. Seven weeks down the line and it is coming. I feel better in myself and more confident. I own and help run a few businesses and I can think better. fitness does that for you. Cornellius is now helping my son get fit and im very happy.
